Background

William Roland Carter started this family haulage company in the 1930’s and the tradition continues with son and grandson now at the helm.

From small beginnings this family company has developed and diversified its operations through three generations of consistent business and service in haulage and distribution.

For 40 years the company specialized in the transport of livestock and then in the late 1970's started work with freight forwarder Autotransit. Since then the Company has increasingly diversified into a mixture of dry freight and general haulage.

Today W.R Carter (Transport) Limited covers all area’s of the country. We specialize in the movement of pallets for a number of leading pallet companies being able to carry more of a quantity than normal due to our specially designed trailer’s which were designed in house and made in Ireland. We also move various timber products for companies who specialize in the building and gardening industries.

We also concentrate in the movement of waste products in walking floors and curtainsider trailers from cardboard to paper and plastic. We have connections with international freight forwarders moving their trailers from ports and making and delivery and collection on their behalf’s. We operate night trunking for customer’s also from depot to main Hubs and back again. Weekend work can be undertaken if required please ring for more details.
